Marilyn Lowe, CNM
About the Author:
Marilyn Lowe, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife of more than 20 years. She has privileges at Methodist Women’s Hospital and is part of the Mid-City OB-GYN midwifery team, which prides itself on providing compassionate care to women from adolescence to beyond menopause.
While she values the close relationships she makes with each of her patients, she has an even deeper passion for educating them.
“I love teaching,” the former nurse instructor said. “And every day, that’s a major portion of what I do: teaching women about their health.”
She especially enjoys the continuum of care she’s able to provide her patients, often seeing them for gynecologic care, childbirth and postpartum care.
Lowe graduated from Lincoln General School of Nursing. She received a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Union College in Lincoln and a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She feels that practicing midwifery at Methodist is a privilege – a return to that patient-first culture she first experienced in 1986 as an obstetrics clinical nurse specialist at Methodist Hospital.
“I am very lucky to have one of the best jobs there is – caring for women and their families.”
In her free time, Lowe enjoys traveling, reading and being with her family.
