Jessica McCool

About the Author:

Dr. Jessica McCool became interested in medicine as a teenager, after working with residents at senior care facilities. She became a CNA, and knew that one day she would like to become a physician.

Today, her passion lies not just in caring for seniors, but for the whole family. As a family medicine and internal medicine provider, Dr. McCool enjoys getting to know the whole family - from grandparents to grandchildren.

"The Meaning of Care is taking care of the whole family, getting to know your patients and what they expect from you and building their trust," said Dr. McCool. "I think what a patient really expects from you, is knowing that you care for them and will go the extra mile to help them through whatever they are dealing with."

Dr. McCool graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa and earned her medical degree from the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. During her time at Carver College of Medicine, Dr. McCool tutored first-year medical students in biochemistry, cell biology and neuroscience.

She has taken part in training opportunities focused on the care of geriatric patients and has volunteered her time with residents at senior care facilities and with hospice patients. You can see Dr. McCool at Methodist Physicians Clinic Council Bluffs.
