About the Author:

Whether directly caring for patients or working behind the scenes, one thing about Methodist stands out to Andy Sass.

“It’s remarkable how much everyone cares about our patients,” said Sass, the epidemiology service leader for Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women’s Hospital and Methodist Physicians Clinic.

In his role, Sass works to develop policies and processes to help staff members provide the best care possible. He previously spent eight years caring for patients in the Acute Care for Elders Unit at Methodist Hospital.

“Being in the Infection Control department allows me the opportunity to impact more patients than I would have been able to in a direct care setting,” he said.

In his free time, Sass enjoys spending time outside with his family when the weather permits. He’s an active member of the Greater Omaha Association for Professionals in Infection Control, and he regularly volunteers for health screenings at his sons’ school.
