About the Author:

After a surgeon saved her father’s life when she was 9, the decision to go into surgery was an easy one for Dr. Angela Osmolak. She wanted to be able to do for someone else what that surgeon had done for her family.

As a head and neck oncologist board-certified in general surgery, Dr. Osmolak works every day with patients who are dealing with difficult diagnoses.

“My first job is to understand where each patient is coming from when they first step into my office,” said Dr. Osmolak. “The second is knowing how to explain what their diagnosis means and what their options for treatment are. I then combine these things into a plan of action that they understand and are comfortable with.”

Dr. Osmolak works in all areas of treating head and neck cancers, including the oncologic and reconstructive aspects. She is currently treating patients at the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center Head and Neck Oncology Clinic.

Away from work, Dr. Osmolak enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs (a Bernese mountain dog and an English springer spaniel). A Chicago Cubs fan, she enjoys being outdoors, cooking and exploring new food venues.
