About the Author:

The thing Dr. Thomas McElderry enjoys the most about being a family medicine provider is the relationships he builds every day with his patients. He says working side-by-side with patients to help them with both acute illness and managing their health is what makes it so fulfilling.

"You get to that point where you have that mutual trust and respect," said Dr. McElderry. "In future visits they're so much more open to listening to you and taking your advice, moving forward and trying to grow. It's a good feeling."

Dr. McElderry attended medical school at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. His residency training was completed at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines.

Patients can visit Dr. McElderry at Methodist Physicians Clinic Council Bluffs.
