About the Author:

Alan Naujokaitis, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, is a physical therapist at Methodist Physicians Clinic Indian Hills. He completed his medical training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

He is an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

“I chose outpatient orthopedics because I enjoy treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions,” Naujokaitis said. “I also like to work with patients one-on-one. I enjoy helping patients return to their sport or prior level of function.”

A big part of his job is listening to patients’ concerns.

“I believe that I should treat each patient as if they were a family member,” he said. “I want to spend enough time to hear their story and not make assumptions about what they need to improve upon.”

When he’s not helping patients, Naujokaitis enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, coaching youth sports, exercising and cheering on the Huskers.
