William Butz, MD
About the Author:
William Butz, MD, is a family medicine physician at Methodist Physicians Clinic Red Oak and loves caring for patient in the small-town setting.
He enjoys helping a variety of people on a daily basis. Dr. Butz may walk into one exam room to evaluate an infant. His next patient might be an adult dealing with a severe medical issue like cancer or heart failure.
“I’ve never been bored a day since I’ve been a doctor, and I get to help people in so many far-reaching ways,” he said.
Dr. Butz grew up in a family of dentists, but he was drawn to family medicine because a family doctor in his hometown lived just a few doors down. Dr. Butz would frequently see the doctor going to the hospital and being active in the community.
“As I developed through my medical education, I had the focus of wanting to be in a small town, wanting to be a doctor who could help people in a broad way,” he said.
Dr. Butz received his medical training from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed his residency at the Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program in Lincoln, Nebraska.
He aims to put his patients first when helping make their medical decisions and especially enjoys helping new parents care for their newborns.
Dr. Butz and his wife enjoy spending time with their four daughters. Dr. Butz is a runner; he has completed three marathons and several half marathons.
