About the Author:

A Wisconsin native, Becky Childers, PA-C, joined the Midwest Gynecology Oncology team at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center in 2007. She works closely with physicians in the education and scheduling of patients, assists with surgical procedures, manages postoperative care of patients and clears patients to receive their chemotherapy.

Childers completed her undergraduate studies at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. She pursued her physician assistant degree at the Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona, and worked in obstetrics and gynecology in Chandler, Arizona, before moving to Nebraska in 2006.

Patients inspire Childers every day. “Working with cancer patients can be tough both mentally and emotionally, but I have met some of the strongest women while working here,” she said. “My patients inspire me to be the best, most compassionate clinician I can be.”

Outside of work, Childers spends her time at the softball field, watching her daughter play and playing on a coed team herself. She likes most sports, as well as scrapbooking, going to concerts, traveling and spending time with family.
