About the Author:

Her father was an oncologist, her mother was a Catholic middle school teacher. That’s where Dr. Deirdre Stolmeier's passion for science and service originates. Her plans to pursue medicine were solidified after embarking on a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic. She claims “it was by fate” that a dermatology rotation was added to her schedule during medical school, calling it “fascinating and stimulating.”

Inspired by the teamwork she sees at Methodist, Dr. Stolmeier’s goal is to treat every patient as she would want her child or parent treated.

“I had a close family member become terminally ill while I was in medical school,” she said, “so I was able to experience the medical field from the eyes of a patient. I saw what made certain physicians great and realized how overwhelming medicine is to many patients and families.”

Dr. Stolmeier specializes in general dermatology. Her services include full skin exams and diagnosing and treating common skin conditions like psoriasis, acne, eczema, warts and skin cancer. She attended medical school at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed residencies at Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin and University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, running, baking, reading and traveling.

Dr. Deirdre Stolmeier is a dermatologist at Methodist Physicians Clinic West Dodge Medical Plaza.
