The Story Continues at Methodist Women's Hospital NICU Reunion

Child and Family
Published: Aug. 26, 2019

Think back to your childhood. What was your favorite book? Why was it your favorite book? When you hear the title and see the illustrations now, what memories are conjured up?

Whether you loved the story, the pictures inside or maybe the bonding with a parent or sibling that took place, reading aloud can have a powerful impact on young minds.

At Methodist, we believe every baby deserves the benefits of being read to, even during an extended hospital stay. Through the generosity of many of our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) graduates, current and future Methodist NICU patients will be given books to kick-start their own little libraries and cognitive development.

THANK YOU to the nearly 100 families – including 11 sets of twins and three sets of triplets – who attended this year’s Methodist Women’s Hospital NICU Reunion and Book Drive. Thank you for taking the opportunity to reconnect with the doctors and nurses you trusted and leaned on during the first days, weeks or months of your babies’ lives.

Your little ones will always hold a place in our hearts, and we’re confident your book donations will become favorites for many of our tiny future readers.
